VdA was distinguished by advising TOTAL on the winning transaction in the category of Global Multilateral Deal of the Year - the MOZ LNG PROJECT.

The project was considered the largest project finance in Africa, worth $20 billion, and is the first onshore LNG venture in Mozambique, providing for the development of natural gas fields and the construction of a natural gas liquefaction plant with a capacity of 13.1 tonnes/year, with funding from the US, Japan, UK, Italy, South Africa, the Netherlands, Thailand and the African Development Bank.

TOTAL (and the other project sponsors) were advised by Latham & Watkins, Miranda Alliance and VdA.
